Juventus v Rennes Prediction: 13/5 Lepaul set to stun Juve

Juventus seek to put Serie A woes behind them on Thursday and continue their 100 percent start to their Europa League campaign at home to Rennes.

Juve welcome the Bretons to Turin on the back of a horror 3-0 home loss to Lazio, a fourth league game in seven which Luciano Spalletti's mid-table side have failed to win.

It is different in Europe with two wins out of two, but that Lazio collapse will surely encourage Rennes, a side who are every bit as inconsistent as their Italian hosts.

Juventus v Rennes

Juventus v Rennes Prediction

Best Bet: Rennes or Draw - Double Chance @ 11/8

Juve have made a fine start to the Europa League with two wins from two but are plenty short enough against a crack side like Rennes.

The Italian giants were poor at the weekend in a 3-0 home loss to Lazio, offering virtually nothing going forward.

They are inconsistent, but so too are Rennes and that's part of the reason why the visitors are attractive, certainly alongside the Draw in the Double Result market.

No team has fired off more shots over the first two rounds of games than Rennes and, with last season's Ligue 1 Golden Boot winner Esteban Lepaul fresh off a weekend hat-trick, they have the potency to trouble Luciano Spalletti's side.

Alternative Bet: Esteban Lepaul to score anytime @ 13/5

Lepaul has scored seven of Rennes' 15 Ligue 1 goals this term culminating in his weekend hat-trick in the 4-3 loss at Paris FC.

He has had an astonishing 12 months, rising from the depths with Angers to a starting place in the France national team and now a first taste of European competition.

Rennes will create chances at Juve because this is a million miles from a vintage Old Lady side and, if Lepaul gets a decent sight of goal, he can find the net.

Juventus v Rennes Bet Builder Tip

  • Over 27.5 shots

  • Guglielmo Vicario 2+ saves

  • Most cards - Rennes

  • Under 2 first-half goals

    Pays 11/2

Juventus are averaging 16.5 shots per game in the Europa League, Rennes 22, while Juve are averaging 17 shots per game in Serie A, Rennes 16.3 in Ligue 1.

However, when you weigh those stats, the bottom line is that over 27.5 match shots looks a perfectly sensible building block for a Bet Builder.

Juve second string keeper Kamil Grabara made four saves in Juve's 5-0 win over NEC in their Europa League opener, with Guglielmo Vicario making one in the 2-1 win at Celta.

Vicario will start against Rennes who can sting the ex-Spurs man's fingers at least twice.

Rennes have picked up seven more cards than Juventus over the same number of games so can land the cards matchbet.

There have been under two first-half goals in each of Rennes' two Euro ties and Juve's last encounter in Vigo last week, so sign the Bet Builder off with under two first half goals.
