Germany v Finland Prediction, Tips and Bet Builder

Germany have won seven straight games ahead of Sunday's World Cup warm-up clash with Finland in Mainz.

Despite that impressive run, they had some shaky moments in last year's qualifying campaign and made hard work of reaching the finals, but Julian Nagelsmann's side were previously able to shake off doubts to impress as Euro 2024 hosts.

While they're missing the retired Toni Kroos, the lynchpin of their Euros run, Nagelsmann's side has plenty of technical ability and, if they can get Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz to click after troubled seasons, then Die Mannschaft could really put on a show.

Germany v Finland

Germany v Finland Prediction

Best Bet: Germany to win and both teams to score @ 8/5

One of the big headlines from Germany's squad announcement was the return of Manuel Neuer.

The Bayern Munich goalkeeper is still performing at a high level at 40 years of age, but he has looked vulnerable at times for the Bavarians this season.

He forms part of a German defence which doesn't look entirely convincing, having conceded four goals across their two victories in March.

Finland lost half of last year's qualifiers, following 2024's relegation to the third tier of the Nations League.

Germany fell behind twice in their visit to Switzerland, before ultimately emerging as 4-3 winners and they followed that up with a 2-1 victory at home to Ghana.

With Nagelsmann likely to test out some other options later in this game, Finland should get some opportunities to score.

Back the Finns to score a consolation goal as Germany continue their winning streak.

Alternative Bet: Florian Wirtz to assist @ 6/5

Wirtz didn't have the best debut season in English football with Liverpool, but the 23-year-old is a growing influence on his national side.

The creative burden is likely to fall on him, especially after two standout displays in recent months.

Wirtz had two assists in a commanding 6-0 victory over Slovakia in November and he created another two goals in their victory over the Swiss earlier this year.

He has a combined 20 goals and assists across his 39 caps for the senior side, while he finished his first year on Merseyside with 12 assists across all competitions.

Germany are odds-on to score three or more goals in this clash and Wirtz will be key to them running up a big scoreline.

Back him to set up at least one goal.

Germany v Finland Bet Builder Tip

  • Nick Woltemade to score anytime

  • Florian Wirtz to assist

  • Joel Pohjanpalo 1+ shot on target

    Pays 9/2

Nick Woltemade's first season with Newcastle United fizzled out after a bright start, but the striker looks like he could make a real impression in international football.

He was top scorer at the Under-21 Euros last summer, helping Germany to the final of that competition and his step up to the senior side has gone well, as he struck four goals in their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Woltemade has scored in three of his last four starts for Germany and he can extend that good run in Mainz on Sunday.

Germany's defensive issues should see Finland forward Pohjanpalo have a shot on target.

He had five across last year's qualifying campaign, while he finished his club campaign at Palermo with 15 shots on target across his final 15 starts.
