Welsh rivals Cardiff City and Wrexham clash for the first time in a league game for 24 years in a mouth-watering start to their Championship campaigns.
Cardiff are back in the second tier after securing second place in League One in May and hope to carry that momentum into their opening league game.
Wrexham, meanwhile, go again after end-of-term mis-steps which cost them a place in the play-offs and with their Hollywood backers demanding another box-office season to remember.
The Bluebirds beat Swindon Town 3-2 last weekend in round one of the EFL Cup, while the Red Dragons fell at the first hurdle, losing 1-0 at Middlesbrough.
Best Bet - Over 5.5 Cardiff corners @ 10/11
Alternative Bet - Perry Ng 1+ shots on target @ 12/5
Bet Builder - Yousef Salech to score at anytime, Nathan Trott 3+ saves & Under 5 cards @ 6/1
Best Bet: Over 5.5 Cardiff corners @ 10/11
The first weekend of the season looks as unpredictable as usual across the EFL, so having a strident view on this showdown looks precarious.
Cardiff are buzzing after promotion and have produced some decent efforts in pre-season but have found it hard to recruit new players.
Wrexham have had a mixed summer and head south without their top scorer and player of the year Josh Windass.
And it's a grudge match with North and South Wales bragging rights just to add even more spice to an intriguing encounter.
What we should expect from Cardiff is them to try to be on the front foot as they were for much of last year and that should mean they rack up a fair few corners.
They averaged 6.2 per game in League One and on home soil, roared on by the crowd, they can clear the 5.5 corners mark.
Alternative Bet: Perry Ng 1+ shots on target @ 12/5
One of the real gems in the Bluebirds side is right-back Perry Ng, a competent defender and an attacking threat.
He played in central defence in the 3-2 EFL Cup win over Swindon but should be restored to the right side against Wrexham.
Ng scored six goals last season averaging 1.1 shots per game and the Liverpool-born star looks a fair price at 12/5 to muster at least one effort on target in a game where the hosts will want to be positive.
Yousef Salech will play at the tip of Cardiff's three-man front line and will take to the pitch in the form of his life.
Salech scored 15 goals last season - including one in Cardiff's 2-1 win at Wrexham in the EFL Cup in October - and started this season with a brace in the 3-2 win over Swindon.
He had also scored three in three games in pre-season so take this hottest of streaks to continue and back the 24-year-old to score as the first component of your Monday night Bet Builder.
Nathan Trott made 2.2 saves per game in League One last term and better teams - such as Wrexham - are going to ask more questions of him.
Take Trott to make at least three saves.
A Welsh bunfight, therefore it's bound to be testy, is the thinking. The logical conclusion, therefore, would be plenty of cards.
Not necessarily given that Wrexham were one of the best behaved teams in the Championship last term (74 cards) and Cardiff more than respectable in League One (82 cards).
In his last nine matches last season referee Andrew Kitchen showed under five cards and may well do so again.
