Five left wingers that Arsenal could sign this summer

Having finally secured their first Premier League title in 22 years, Mikel Arteta and Arsenal are in no mood to stand still.

Reports have suggested that Arsenal are in the market for a number of positions this season, with their midfield, defence and attack all set to be upgraded with expensive, world-class talent.

One of the key problem areas for the Premier League champions last season within their attack was left wing, with both Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard struggling for consistency and output throughout the campaign.

The former - Martinelli - is currently 6/4 favourite to remain at Arsenal this summer, although a high profile left wing acquisition could change that, amid interest from Saudi Arabia and major European clubs.

Another one of Martinelli's teammates, Gabriel Jesus, who can also cover the left wing, is priced favourably to leave Arsenal, with moves to Juventus, AC Milan and Palmeiras all priced shorter than the 6/1 he is to remain at the Emirates Stadium.

With all of that in mind, let's take a look at which left wing targets Arsenal could look to sign this summer.

Kenan Yildiz

One of the names at the top of Arsenal's wish list, Turkish winger Kenan Yildiz is one of the most exciting prospects in world football.

The 21 year-old was in fine form for Juventus last season, scoring 11 goals and registering 10 assists in all competitions, playing predominantly as a left winger or second striker.

While Yildiz may be the dream signing for Mikel Arteta's side, the Athletic have reported that Arsenal made an enquiry for his services, from which the Old Lady made their stance clear that he was not for sale.

Rafael Leao

A player who has consistently been linked with a move to the Emirates, Rafael Leao could be the answer to Arsenal's left wing issues.

The 26 year-old Portugal international has already publicly stated his desire for a move away from AC Milan, citing that he wants a new challenge away from a club which he joined in 2019 for around €50m.

An electric and direct winger, Leao has been a consistent threat to Serie A defenders for the last seven years, scoring 85 goals and earning 65 assists for Milan in all competitions.

With his consistency and desire for a move, Leao would be an attainable option for the Gunners and they are currently third favourites to secure his signature, priced at 6/1.

Morgan Rogers

Another player heavily linked with a move this summer, Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers is reportedly high on Arsenal's list of targets this summer.

The England international had a sensational season for Aston Villa last term, scoring 14 goals and registering 12 assists in all competitions as the Villans finished fourth in the Premier League and ended their 30-year trophy drought by winning the UEFA Europa League.

With financial restrictions set to be a big issue for Villa this summer, a big money fee could tempt them into parting with their star man.

While Arsenal may prefer to move for a more traditional winger, having already signed a similar profile player in Eberechi Eze last season, Arteta's side may view Rogers as a market opportunity this summer.

The former Manchester City academy man is currently odds-on favourite to move to Arsenal this window, at a price of 1/2.

Raphinha

A more ambitious name, Barcelona's Brazilian star Raphinha would be a statement signing for the Gunners.

Now 29, Raphinha is well into the prime of his career and, with €80m signing of Anthony Gordon set to compete in his position, the former Leeds United star could move to guarantee game time.

Arsenal would be one of the few clubs in Europe able to compete financially for his wages, alongside offering regular competition for major trophies, which makes a potential move for Raphinha sound more likely.

While he would be an expensive move for the Gunners, having moved to Barcelona for €58m four years ago, Raphinha could be the star signing that would finally earn Arsenal their first European trophy.

Marcus Rashford

The final player linked with a move to North London this summer, Marcus Rashford is on the lookout for his next club, with a move to Barcelona looking less likely by the day.

Having had loan moves at Aston Villa and Barcelona since falling out of favour at Manchester United, Rashford will be hoping that his next move is a permanent one.

The Englishman has been linked to a number of Europe's biggest and best clubs - including Arsenal last summer - whilst possessing all the technical and physical qualities required to be a successful left winger at the top level.

While both Arsenal and Rashford may have other options higher in their thinking, a move for the Carrington graduate to North London could be a great move for all parties.

With no current strong links between the two, Arsenal are currently priced at 16/1 outsiders to sign Rashford this window.
