Middlesbrough have announced that six first team players will leave the club following the expiration of their contracts.
Kim Hellberg's side suffered an agonising 1-0 defeat to Hull City in the Championship play-off final after being reinstated following the Spygate saga with Southampton.
Centre-back Darragh Lenihan and striker Marcus Forss headline the list of departures from Middlesbrough this summer.
Lenihan departs after an injury-ravaged spell at the club, while Forss leaves after slipping down the pecking order and spending time on loan at Bolton Wanderers in the 2025/26 season.
Midfielder Alex Gilbert will leave the Riverside Stadium this summer after making 47 appearances for the club, with Dan Barlaser also released following his loan spell at Hibernian.
Winger Sammy Silvera and veteran goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin are the other first-team players who will leave Teesside.
One player who will be staying is Jeremy Sarmiento, with his loan from Brighton and Hove Albion set to become permanent in June.
However, Matt Targett, Alan Browne and Joe Wildsmith will all return to their parent clubs following the conclusion of their loan deals.
The club remains in discussions with centre-back Dael Fry over a new deal, with his current contract now at an end.
Elsewhere, academy players Prince Acheampong, Hazeem Bakre, Nathan Fisher, Max Howells, Leandro Bevin, Oliver Lloyd, William Okine, Logan Williams, McCartney Woodhouse and Will McPartland have all left the club.
