Dave Allen faces the biggest challenge of his professional career to date this weekend when he takes on the hard-hitting Croatian Filip Hrgovic in a mouthwatering heavyweight contest.
'The White Rhino' has restored his cult hero status with a string of impressive wins and performances since staging his return to the sport a couple of years ago, but significantly steps up in quality on his Doncaster homecoming as he faces a legitimate heavyweight title contender.
Hrgovic, whose sole career loss came at the hands of current heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois, fell short in his quest to secure a lucrative fight against either Fabio Wardley or Agit Kabayel, meaning he now faces the battle-hardened Allen as he attempts to make inroads towards securing a showdown with a higher-ranked opponent later in the year.
Will the bout go to script however, or will Allen - who bounced back to winning ways against Karim Berredjem last time out following his gutsy performance in defeat at the hands of Arslanbek Makhmudov - produce the performance of his life to elevate himself into the world title picture for the first time.
Before we find out on Saturday night, we've got a full fight week to look forward to, of which you can find out all the details of below...
The Open Workouts on Wednesday 13th May will provide each fighter the opportunity to witness their opponent training inside the ring in the flesh for the first time.
Usually lasting around 10 to 15 minutes each, the sessions are generally light workouts and take place in front of fans to help build excitement for fight night.
The workouts will be staged at the Frenchgate shopping centre in Doncaster and will be open to the public, with the event getting underway at 16:00 (BST).
There has been plenty of respect between Dave Allen and Filip Hrgovic in the build-up to fight week, but that could change when the pair give their final thoughts at the final press conference on Thursday 14th May.
Starting at 13:00 (BST), members of the media will pose questions to Allen and Hrgovic, together with their manager, trainers and Matchroom and Queensberry representatives, for around 30 minutes.
The press conference is being held inside the Eco-Power Stadium, the same venue that will be hosting the full fight card a couple of days later.
Whilst the official weigh-in will take place behind closed doors a little earlier on Friday 15th May, the public (ceremonial) weigh-in is scheduled to take place at 17:00 (BST).
All fighters on the card will tip the scales in front of the live television cameras with details of their weights being made public for the first time.
Expect the headliners, Filip Hrgovic and Dave Allen, to weigh-in at around 17:15 (BST), before undertaking what promises to be a captivating final face-off, just 24 hours out from fight night.
The ceremonial weigh-ins, which are open to the public, will take place at Market Place in Doncaster.
The moment we have all been waiting for, Filip Hrgovic vs Dave Allen takes place on Saturday 16th May, with the scrap at Doncaster's Eco-Power Stadium scheduled for an approximate 22:15 (BST) start.
Of course, the exact start time will be dependent upon the length of the undercard action, but for now ring walks for the main event are penciled in for around 22:05 (BST).
The full televised bill of boxing is advertised for a 19:00 (BST) start and will be available to watch live on DAZN.
