England head to the 2026 World Cup with aspirations of ending their 60-year wait for major tournament victory.
The Three Lions have suffered various heartbreaks in the six decades that have passed since Geoff Hurst's hat-trick sank West Germany at Wembley.
However, Thomas Tuchel's men look to have a great chance on paper heading to North America this summer.
Tuchel will be leading England into a major tournament for the very first time and he will be hoping to advance on the exploits of previous manager Gareth Southgate.
Southgate guided England to two finals, both in the European Championships, but unfortunately fell at the final hurdle in both 2021 and 2024. Although he did not manage to get his side into a World Cup final, appearances in the last four and last eight in 2018 and 2024 respectively, were a marked improvement on efforts earlier this century.
