Nicky Hayen's time as Burnley manager came to end over the weekend and EFL pundit Tom Garratt believes that he has the perfect candidate to step into his shoes at Turf Moor.
Far more was expected from the Clarets after suffering relegation from the Premier League last season, but just one win from their opening 12 matches leaves them occupying a spot in the relegation zone alongside Derby County and Preston North End.
Hayen -- who only joined the club over the summer -- was dismissed following Saturday's dismal 4-1 defeat at newly-promoted Lincoln.
Speaking on bet365's Pyramid Podcast, EFL pundit Tom Garratt slammed Burnley's performance at Sincil Bank, before making a bold prediction should they take his advice and hire former Huddersfield, West Brom and Valencia boss Carlos Corberan.
"Burnley [were] just shocking, shocking defensively," Garratt said. "They're now in the bottom three, eight points from 12 games and three behind Watford [in 21st].
Garratt does, however, have a solution to their Championship woes so far this campaign.
"Get Carlos Corberan! He's a firefighter, he'll get them organised, he'll stop the rot defensively and they've got enough quality to goals going forward. I understand individual mistakes happen, but a lot of these individual mistakes come through bad coaching.
"These players are put into positions to make mistakes through poor coaching, poor patterns of play and a poor style of play.
"If Burnley get Corberan, then they will finish in the top-half!"
Although he parted ways with Valencia following a poor run of form in September, Corberan has an impressive record in the second tier of English football.
The 43-year-old Spanish boss narrowly missed out on earning promotion to the Premier League with Huddersfield in 2021/22, finishing third before suffering an agonising playoff final defeat to Nottingham Forest.
He was then appointed by West Brom with the Baggies second from bottom after 16 matches, but fired them into playoff contention after winning 10 of his first 13 league matches in charge.
Corberan would inherit a similar position at Burnley if he were to takeover and, with an extra two playoff spots up for grabs, the Clarets are 7/2 to get themselves inside the top eight come the end of the campaign.
