World Cup debutants Haiti top bet365's list of liabilities heading into the summer showpiece.
Merely getting out of the group stage would be an enormous achievement for Haiti, drawn alongside Brazil, Morocco and Scotland, but that hasn't stopped plenty of punters backing them at four-figure prices to win the World Cup.
bet365’s Steve Freeth said: "When running the liabilities, the usual suspects of Portugal and France were in red, but I had a bit of a shock when seeing that Haiti topped the list -- and by some distance.
"Clearly, it usually doesn’t take much to build up liabilities because of the monster prices, but we’ve taken over 1,500 wagers on them, ranging from 4500/1 to the current price of 2500/1. The bulk of them have come in over the last week or so, following Haiti’s 4-0 thrashing of New Zealand, while and England only managed a 1-0 victory over the All Whites.
"There is Premier League and Scottish Premiership experience in the squad, and we will see how good they are on the world stage when they kick off proceedings against Scotland in the early hours of Sunday morning.
"While they might surprise a few, we're not worried just yet about Haiti winning the World Cup, and of the more realistic contenders, joint-fourth favourites Portugal have been popular, with their dangerous midfield trio of Joao Neves, Vitinha and Bruno Fernandes, while France's all-star cast, spearheaded by Kylian Mbappe, has received plenty of support.
"England have hardly set the punters' pulses racing with their last three friendly showings and some have questioned Tuchel's squad selection. As it stands, we'll take an England World Cup success all day long, but I doubt I'll be still saying that should they reach the final on July 19."
