Arsenal cruised to a 3-0 victory in the opening fixture of the 2026/27 Premier League campaign against newly promoted Coventry City.
Mikel Arteta's side proved why they are the reigning champions in the early stages of the game, taking the game to Frank Lampard's visitors.
The Gunners found the breakthrough via Kai Havertz in the 15th minute, delicately converting an expertly weighted pass from Riccardo Calafiori.
It took less than 10 minutes for the hosts to double their lead, this time through Hale End star boy Bukayo Saka. Christos Tzolis' promising cross was parried straight into the path of the England international, and he had no trouble firing the ball into a practically empty net.
Coventry made it into half time with the score at 2-0, but Martin Odegaard was quick to remind them what they'll be coming up against in the top-flight.
The Norwegian found himself on the end of a shrewd Arsenal move, and while his finish was rather unconvincing, it ensured that there was no way back for the Premier League newcomers.
