Daniel Dubois has entertained the prospect of a future bout with Tyson Fury after overcoming Fabio Wardley to retain the WBO heavyweight title.
Dubois bounced back from two early knockdowns against Wardley back in May to record a TKO victory in the 11th round, but 'Triple D' didn't need nearly as long to dispose of the Ipswich Town fan in the rematch on Saturday 17th October.
He proved far too much for Wardley at the 02, offloading a barrage of ferocious shots before Ben Davison threw the towel in to end the fight in the second round.
It's a victory for Dubois that bolsters his stature in the division, and he now has his sights set on Fury -- one of few elite heavyweights that he hasn't yet fought.
When speaking exclusively to Sky Sports on the prospect of fighting the 'Gypsy King', Dubois said: "Definitely. That'll be ground-breaking. That'll be the next level for me.
"I've fought everyone then really from this era. I've fought them all. Fury's the last one.
"Fury's a fighting man, I'm sure he would want it. Let's see how he does with AJ. Let's see. I'm sure Frank [Warren, who promotes both Dubois and Fury] would love to make that fight."
Before Fury even entertains a future bout with 'DDD', he will face long-term rival Anthony Joshua in the most eagerly anticipated fight in British boxing history in the early hours of Saturday 12th December.
The 'Gypsy King's' plans post-Joshua are currently unknown -- with an Oleksandr Uysk trilogy amongst the options suggested -- but there's no denying that a fight with Dubois would fill UK stadiums.
Having fought Usyk -- twice -- Anthony Joshua, Filip Hrgovic and several more household names, Dubois has built an impressive resume in 27 professional fights, and victory over Fury, if the two do eventually clash, would undoubtedly elevate his status in all-time British heavyweight discussions.
