Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace as Al Nassr defeated Damac 4-1 on the final day of the 2025/26 season to win the Saudi Pro League title.
Following their dramatic draw against Al Hilal in the previous week, Jorge Jesus' men knew they had to match their rivals' result to achieve their first league success since Ronaldo joined the club in December 2022.
Whilst Al Hilal made a rapid start to their encounter against Al Fayha as Sultan Mandash broke the deadlock after three minutes, Al Nassr were made to work hard for their breakthrough but they finally breached the Damac defence after 33 minutes courtesy of Sadio Mane.
Kingsley Coman doubled Al Nassr's advantage early in the second half, but Damac halved the deficit six minutes later as Morlaye Sylla netted from the penalty spot to raise tensions on the home bench.
With the game finely poised, up stepped Ronaldo to find the back of the net with a free-kick from an improbable angle, the Portugal star managing to fizz his effort through a sea of bodies and into the far corner.
Ronaldo then made it four with less than 10 minutes remaining as he thumped the ball beyond the goalkeeper at the near post from six yards out.
Success in Saudi Arabia yields Ronaldo's 31st major club trophy in his career and his eighth league title, which he's achieved in four different leagues: Premier League, La Liga, Serie A and Saudi Pro League.
His brace also takes him to 973 career goals and with the 41-year-old seemingly set to remain with Al Nassr for another campaign, there's every chance Ronaldo will reach the landmark figure of 1,000 career goals if he can replicate his scoring form from the current season.
Ronaldo is set to represent Portugal at this summer's World Cup after being selected in Roberto Martinez's 26-man squad.
The upcoming tournament will mark Ronaldo's record sixth appearance at the World Cup as Seleção das Quinas bid to win football's most coveted trophy for the first time.
"When we talk about Cristiano Ronaldo, we talk about two players," Martínez said. "We talk about the icon of world soccer and we talk about the player, our captain, who has the same demands as the other players, the competitiveness to be in the national team.
"Our captain is an example. We want him to continue with the same level of responsibility and leadership inside the locker room."
Ronaldo is 20/1 to claim the Golden Boot at the 2026 World Cup.
