Launched to end Pakistan's long drought of hosting cricket in the country, the Pakistan Super League is one of the most notable Twenty20 franchise tournaments on the calendar.
The 2025 Pakistan Super League will be held during the months of April and May, having previously taken place in February and March of each year.
The 2025 PSL season will start on 11th April and conclude with the final on 18th May.
Most of the matches in the Pakistan Super League will start at 20:00 local time, which is 15:00 in the UK and Ireland. Some matches are scheduled to start at 10:00 (BST).
Twenty20 games tend to last between three and four hours.
The Pakistan Super League consists of six city-based franchises.
Each of the six franchises has their own home ground and several internationally acclaimed stadia play host to the Pakistan Super League.
Islamabad United play at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, while the Karachi Kings host matches at the National Stadium in Karachi.
The Gaddafi Stadium is the home of the Lahore Qalanders, the Multan Sultans play at Multan Cricket Stadium and the Peshawar Zalmi entertain at the Arbab Niaz Stadium.
Last but by no means least, the Quetta Gladiators are located at the Bugti Stadium in Quetta.
The Pakistan Super League was officially launched in 2016 following years of failed to attempts to launch Pakistan's own Twenty20 tournament.
Initially consisting of five teams, the division was expanded to six for the 2018 campaign and has remained a six-team league ever since.
The first season was played entirely in the United Arab Emirates amid security reasons, and the tournament was shared between the UAE and Pakistan for four seasons before transitioning entirely to Pakistan from 2022 onwards.
Islamabad United were the inaugural winners of the PSL and they have since claimed a further two titles, making them the most decorated team in the competition.
Lahore Qalanders are two-time victors having triumphed in 2022 and 2023, while every other team has one title to their name.
The Pakistan Super League consists of six teams and is played in a double round-robin format, with every team playing each other twice, home and away.
At the end of the league phase, the top four teams qualify for the end-of-season play-offs.
The top two seeds contest the Qualifier to determine who will advance straight to the final, while the loser will play in the second Eliminator against the winner of the first Eliminator, which is between the third and fourth seeds.
The victor of the second Eliminator will progress to the final.
