What is the Orange Cap in the IPL?
The Orange Cap is an award which is presented to the leading run-scorer in the Indian Premier League.
The tournament's leading run-scorer during the season would don the Orange Cap while fielding before the winner of the Orange Cap is awarded to the batter with the most runs at the end of the campaign.
Who has been awarded the Orange Cap?
David Warner is the only player in IPL history to have been awarded the Orange Cap on three occasions.
The Australian opener collected the accolade in 2015, 2017 and 2019.
Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli are the only other individuals to have claimed the Orange Cap in more than one season. Gayle took the honours in successive campaigns in 2011 and 2012, while his former Royal Challengers Bengaluru teammate Kohli added the Orange Cap to his illustrious collection in 2016 and 2024.
