The total prize money on offer in the Indian Premier League has steadily increased since the initial INR 4.8 crore which was on offer to the winner in the inaugural 2008 season.

In 2025, a total of INR 46.5 crore was set aside for the competition. Only the four teams who progress to the play-offs receive a share of the prize money pool.
