Coventry City are reportedly exploring a deal worth up to £20m to secure the permanent services of goalkeeper Carl Rushworth.
Following a sensational loan spell with the Sky Blues which saw Rushworth named Player of the Season, Players' Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season, Frank Lampard is unsurprisingly keen to make the deal permanent.
The 24-year-old returned to his parent club Brighton after securing the Championship title with Coventry City, but it seems he may have plenty of admirers from rival Premier League clubs.
While the Sky Blues were dominant throughout their 2025/26 campaign in the second tier, they will be fully aware of the challenge that awaits them in the top-flight and will be keen to make a number of additions in the coming weeks.
Rushworth played every minute of the previous campaign and kept an impressive 17 clean sheets, so his capture on a permanent deal would be a real signal of intent early in the summer.
It was reported 12 months ago Owner Doug King attempted to bring Rushworth in on a permanent deal, but Brighton were keen to have the option to bring him back if required.
The expectation is Brighton are now willing to listen to offers and Lampard will be hoping his club are at the front of the queue.
