Constitution Hill finished fourth in the Group 3 September Stakes at Kempton this afternoon.
The Nicky Henderson-trained horse was entered in the Group 3 race after two All-Weather wins earlier this year.
Constitution Hill went off as the second favourite but Billy Loughnane's ride was never really in contention in the five-horse race.
Odds-on favourite Gethin was the long time leader of the 1m3f race, but he eventually finished second as 11/2 shot Pride Of Arras took the honours.
Connections will now weigh up the next move for former National Hunt superstar Constitution Hill after a step up in quality proved to be a step too far.
