When did Chelsea last lose six consecutive Premier League games?

Chelsea are in the midst of a dismal run of a form and defeat against Nottingham Forest marked a sixth consecutive Premier League loss.

The west London-based outfit won six of their opening seven contests under Liam Rosenior, with their only defeat coming against Premier League leaders Arsenal in the EFL Cup, but any sense of optimism has rapidly vanished at Stamford Bridge.

Consecutive Premier League draws against Leeds and Burnley set Chelsea back in their pursuit for UEFA Champions League football, while a 2-1 defeat to the Gunners in the top-flight only added to their woes, but a 4-1 victory over Aston Villa restored their faith.

Since their Villa Park triumph however, they've lost seven of their last 10 games in all competitions, with their only victories coming in the FA Cup against Championship side Wrexham, League One outfit Port Vale and Leeds United.

Defeat against Brighton resulted in Rosenior's dismissal, but the instalment of Calum McFarlane as interim head coach failed to arrest the slide as Chelsea were convincingly beaten by a second-string Nottingham Foreest side at Stamford Bridge.

When did Chelsea last lose six consecutive Premier League games?

Chelsea last lost six consecutive Premier League games during the 1993/94 season.

They defeated Liverpool 1-0 on 25th September 1993 to extend their unbeaten run to six games, but a 1-0 loss against West Ham on 2nd October 1993 would mark the start of an 11-game winless streak.

Leeds United were the team to hand the club a fifth successive Premier League loss on 6th November, defeating Glenn Hoddle's side in emphatic 4-1 fashion, and Arsenal made it six defeats on the trot when beating Chelsea 2-0 two weeks later.

A 0-0 draw against Manchester City on 22nd November temporarily stopped the rot, but they would have to wait until 28th December to earn their first top-flight victory in over three months, defeating Newcastle United 1-0 with a goal from Mark Stein.
