Manchester United Women have announced that Eva Olid as the club's new head coach.
The 40-year-old has signed a two-year contract at United, with the club retaining an option to extend for an additional twelve months.
The news comes after long-reigning manager Marc Smith departed the club earlier this week, just one month before the start of the new Women's Super League season.
Skinner led United to their first-ever major trophy in 2024 as they defeated Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley in the FA Cup final.
During his five-year stint in charge were runners-up in 2023 and 2025, and reached the final of the Women's League Cup last season - losing 2-0 to Chelsea at Ashton Gate in March.
Skinner's departure came after the former Birmingham City boss reportedly raised concerns about a lack of investment in the transfer market, as he looked to build on their fourth-placed finish in the Women's Super League last season.
Prior to Skinner's arrival former England international Casey Stoney had taken charge of the club from its official inception in 2018, leading them to a Women's Championship title in her maiden campaign.

Olid arrives at United riding a wave of momentum having guided Hearts to their first league title last season, finishing two points clear of Rangers following the top six split.
After studying English Language and Physical Education the Spaniard took her first steps into coaching with the Houston Academy in the US, working with their youth teams at the MIC Football tournament in Catalonia.
From there she was given her first senior role with the Edinburgh club then in the second tier of Scottish women's football, succeeding former Northern Ireland international Andy Kirk in the dugout.
With the Jam Tarts Olid implemented a possession-based style that brought immediate success and saw her rewarded with a contract extension after leading the club to fourth in the 2022-23 season, the club's best-ever league finish at that time.
After leading the club to title success last term she was named both the SWPL’s best manager of the season and PFA Scotland SWPL Manager of the Year before departing by mutual agreement at the end of the season.
Speaking following her unveiling at Manchester United Olid detailed her excitement at being appointed head coach.

“The club has outstanding infrastructure and everything we need to achieve our ambitions. We have an excellent training facility, an Academy that is already producing players capable of performing in a competitive first team and an exceptional group of support staff.
