Bristol City linked with January move for Swedish forward

Bristol City are reportedly interested in signing forward Isak Bjerkebo from Swedish side Sirius in January.

On the Minute have reported that the Robins' scouting team are monitoring Bjerkebo following a string of impressive performances in the Swedish league.

The 23-year-old has played a key role in Sirius' unlikely journey to the top of the Allsvenskan table.

The club are currently ten points clear at the top and they are well-placed to clinch the league title for the first time in their history.

Bjerkebo's rapid rise has coincided with Sirius' excellent form and the club could now face a fight to keep hold of one of their star players.

A return of 18 goals in 44 appearances has been impressive over the last two seasons, with his versatility also making him an attractive option.

Bjerkebo is capable of operating as a central striker but he is also adept as a left winger who can cut inside onto his stronger right foot.

Whilst Bristol City are keeping tabs on the player, it is claimed that they could also face competition from Championship rivals Swansea City and Watford.

It has been a solid start to the new campaign for the Robins who sit tenth in the Championship table after their opening nine league games.

Manager Michael Skubala will also have one eye on the opening of the transfer window on New Year's Day and Bjerkebo could be part of the club's plans.
