Bristol Bears v Exeter Chiefs team news: Ellis Genge returns for hosts

Bristol Bears host Exeter Chiefs in a bumper Prem Rugby derby weekend clash on Saturday evening.

Like most in the league, the Bears have won two of their three Prem Rugby matches so far this season, claiming an impressive scalp of defending champions Northampton Saints in round two.

On the other hand, the Chiefs have struggled to continue their momentum from last season, being one of just three sides in the league to have won less than the two matches, with their sole success coming against Newcastle in round three.

Both sides lost their opening European Rugby Champions Cup match of the campaign, with the Chiefs losing narrowly at Toulouse and the Bears being dismantled by the Stormers in Cape Town.

The headline for the Bears is the return of England international loosehead prop Ellis Genge, who returns to the front row alongside Tomas Gwilliam and Lovejoy Chawatama.

Pedro Rubiolo and Joe Batley make up the second row pairing, in front of the back row featuring Steven Luatua, Benjamin Grondona and Fitz Harding, who captains the side.

Harry Randall and AJ MacGinty form the half back partnership, inside of Matias Moroni and James Williams in the centres, while Tom Jordan, Louis Rees-Zammit and Gabriel Ibitoye make up the back three.

For the Chiefs, Nika Abuladze and Olly Woodburn return to the starting lineup, in the only two changes from last weekend.

Woodburn is joined in the back three by Zack Wimbush and Ben Hammersley, with Henry Slade and Will Butt forming the centre pairing. Harvey Skinner and Sam Wolstenholme form a familiar half back pairing.

Abultadze joins Jack Yeandle and Josh Iosefa-Scott in the front row, with Tom Hooper partnering Dafydd Jenkins at lock, just in front of Ethan Roots, Ross Vintcent and Greg Fisilau, who form the back row.
