Brighton & Hove Albion are attempting to complete a deadline day deal to sign Stuttgart midfielder Chema Andres.
Journalist Florian Plettenberg confirmed the news of the late move on his official X account.
"BREAKING | Brighton are now pushing for a late-night Deadline Day deal for Chema Andrés from VfB Stuttgart.
"Negotiations are ongoing. It’s hot.
"Talks have started today as excl. revaled at Sky."
Andres moved to Stuttgart from Real Madrid last summer for a fee of just for €3 million.
The Spain Under 21 international made 39 appearances in all competitions for the German side last season.
His performances have caught the eye of Brighton who are keen to add a further midfield option on deadline day.
Andres is a holding midfielder who has drawn comparisons to compatriot Sergio Busquets.
His tactical awareness, composure and eye for a pass are appealing to Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler as he looks to build on a strong debut season with the Seagulls.
