Millwall are looking to conclude a loan deal to sign Crystal Palace winger Romain Esse before the transfer window shuts.
BBC Sport journalist Sami Mokbel has reported Millwall's interest in a move for their former player.
It is believed that talks are ongoing between the two clubs ahead of the 11pm deadline.
The deal is likely to follow Femi Azeez's departure from Millwall, with Brighton & Hove Albion attempting to complete that particular deal.
Esse left Millwall to join Crystal Palace for a reported fee of £12 million in January 2025.
The 21-year-old has been unable to secure regular first-team football at Selhurst Park and he has made just 11 Premier League appearances for the club.
The fleet-footed winger spent the second half of last season on loan at Coventry City where he played a key role to help the club win the Championship title.
Another spell in the second-tier is now on the cards as Millwall look to re-sign a player who was immensely popular with supporters.
Millwall reached the Championship play-offs last season and manager Alex Neil will be hoping for a seamless transition if Azeez leaves and Esse arrives.
