Sunderland supporters will be sweating as they await an official update on star striker Brian Brobbey after he was forced out of the Netherlands' UEFA Nations League clash with Germany on Thursday night.
The striker hobbled off after just 35 minutes of the contest after suffering what appeared to be a serious hamstring injury.
The 24-year-old, who has enjoyed a proftiably start to the new campaign in the North East, pulled up after chasing a ball forward and immediately signalled to the Dutch medical team that he needed replacing.
Brobbey only netted his first Premier League hat-trick less than a week ago in an enthralling 5-3 defeat against Enzo Maresca's table-toppers, Manchester City.
The former Ajax man is a significant doubt for Netherlands' upcoming clash with Serbia, whilst there are serious question marks as to whether he will be declared fit to feature for the Black Cats when they resume their Premier League schedule at home to Brighton & Hove Albion on October 10.

It would come as a huge surprise to see Brian Brobbey play any further part for the Netherlands during the current international break.
The frontman was seen being helped down the tunnel by the Dutch medical team after hobbling off the field, and early suggestions are that the injury is relatively serious.
Hamstring injuries can vary in severity, with slight pulls and strains typically resulting in two or three week lay-offs and more severe tears sidelining players for a number of months.
Sunderland boss Regis le Bris will be certainly hoping Brobbey falls into the former category as he gets set to balance his side's European, domestic up and continental commitments over the coming weeks.
No official comment on Brobbey's diagnosis has yet been made by Netherlands boss Xavi Hernandez following their 1-1 draw with Germany in Amsterdam.
