Find out more about Matchroom chief Frank Smith after the promoter clashed with Chris Eubank Jr in the lead-up to his blockbuster meeting with Conor Benn at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
In the final press conference ahead of the Fatal Fury event put on by The Ring Magazine on Saturday night, Eubank Jr was eager to prevent either of Matchroom's most senior figures in Eddie Hearn and Smith getting a word in edgeways.
Eubank Jr has clashed consistently with Hearn in the lead-up to his fight with Benn, with the East Sussex fighter stating no spectators are interested in what the Matchroom promoter has to say.
"I don't want to hear it," said Eubank Jr as he continued to interrupt Hearn talking.
45-year-old Hearn eventually gave up trying to talk and elected to leave the stage and be replaced by his colleague Smith, who is currently the Matchroom CEO.
Smith began working at Matchroom as a teaboy during his teenage years and worked all the way up to the role of CEO, which he assumed in April 2018.
Now one of the most powerful figures in the sport, Smith oversees the day-to-day running of Matchroom Boxing and is thus one of the company's Chairman Eddie Hearn's most trusted confidants.
Stepping in to cover for his colleague Hearn amid oncoming fire from Eubank Jr at the public press conference on Thursday, Smith had similar trouble attempting to get his message across.
"Frank, if Eddie's not speaking, do you think you're going to get a word in?" Eubank Jr said.
What will have made the pair's exchange particularly awkward is that Eubank Jr is in fact Smith's brother-in-law, with the Matchroom fight broker in a relationship with the boxer's sister Emily Eubank.
Eubank Jr v Benn is gearing up to be one of the biggest fights of the year as family pride and bragging rights go on the line in front of a packed out 62,000 Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday night.
