Blackburn Rovers have reportedly had a bid rejected for former Leeds United attacking midfielder Sam Greenwood.
Greenwood, 24, left Leeds United on a free transfer last summer, making the move to Poland with Pogon Szczecin.
Prior to this, Greenwood made 35 appearances for the Lilywhites, scoring one goal and registering five assists in his three years at Elland Road.
The former Arsenal academy man had loan stints with Middlesbrough and Preston North End whilst on the books at Leeds United, but ultimately failed to make the cut, moving to the Ekstraklasa for a new challenge.
After a solid season on the continent, which saw Greenwood register five goals and assists in 22 matches for the Polish side, he now looks to have a route back to English football.
Journalist Ben Jacobs has reported via X, that Blackburn Rovers have had a bid in the region of £650,000 - rising to £1million after add-ons - rejected by Pogon Szczecin for his services.
Alongside the links to Blackburn Rovers, Jacobs also reported on interest from a number of other Championship sides, though no others were specifically named.
It is yet to be confirmed whether Blackburn will go back in for the 24 year-old or move on to other targets, as the Rovers weigh up options to bolster their squad.
Having survived relegation last season, Blackburn will be looking to improve on their 20th place finish from last season, under newly appointed manager Tony Mowbray.
While Greenwood is yet to fulfil his potential shown in his Arsenal academy days, there's no doubt that he'd be a shrewd addition at Ewood Park and, with his experience in the second tier already, he could be a key player for the Rovers next season.
