Birmingham City are set to sign Mohammed Fuseini on loan from Belgian Pro League side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, according to a report.
The Blues are looking to enhance their attacking personnel between now and the end of the transfer window and the club have been assessing No.10 and left wing options, with both Ipswich Town's Anis Mehmeti and Portsmouth's Adrian Segecic linked.
Brighton's Ibrahim Osman, who spent the second half of last season on loan at St Andrew's, was a priority target but the young Ghanaian is set to remain at the Amex Stadium as part of Fabian Hurzeler's first-team squad.
With Osman off the market, Birmingham have been forced to assess elsewhere and according to a report from Flashscore, the Blues have pursued Fuseini, who is capable of playing centrally or on the left flank.
It's understood Fuseini has travelled to England and the 24-year-old will complete his medical ahead of a loan move with an option to buy.
Several clubs across Europe were rumoured to be tracking Fuseini including Ligue 1 sides Lorient and Troyes, while Birmingham's Championship rivals Derby County were believed to be monitoring the Ghana international.
Fuseini was expected to play a major role for Union Saint-Gilloise in the current campaign and the winger contributed an assist in the Belgian Super Cup triumph over Club Brugge before netting an outrageous curling effort in USG's UEFA Champions League play-off defeat to Bodo/Glimt.
However, Fuseini was omitted from David Hubert's squad for USG's 3-0 victory over Anderlecht on Sunday with the Ghanaian now expected to depart the Stade Joseph Marien.
The Ghanaian joined the Brussels club in 2024 from Austrian side Sturm Graz following a successful loan spell at Danish club Randers.
Fuseini has netted 15 goals and registered five assists in 76 appearances for Union Saint-Gilloise. He delivered 14 goal contributions in 2024/25 when USG achieved their first league title in 90 years.
He was sidelined for the majority of the 2025/26 campaign after undergoing surgery on a severe ankle injury in September 2025.
Fuseini is recognised as one of the fastest players in European football, having clocked a speed of 37.58km/h during a league fixture against Anderlecht.
Chris Davies' Birmingham side have desperately craved an injection of pace and Fuseini's physical attributes could offer the Blues frontline greater variety in their forward play.
Birmingham picked up their first league win of the campaign on Friday night with a 2-1 victory over Wrexham at the Racecourse Ground, which followed back-to-back draws against Sheffield United and Bristol City.
