Birmingham City manager Chris Davies is reportedly under pressure ahead of the new season.
The Blues are amongst the favourites for promotion ahead of the 2026/27 Championship campaign.
With the Championship play-offs expanding to cover the teams who finish seventh and eighth, a play-off place is seen as a minimum requirement for Birmingham next season.
A strong end to last season saw Davies' side finish tenth in the table but supporters were disgruntled as the team's inconsistencies prevented a sustained top-six challenge.
Football Insider have claimed that Davies will be given six to eight games to prove that he is capable of leading a promotion bid.
The club's US owners are wanting the team to be in a strong position early on in the season after backing Davies with significant funds since his arrival.
They are looking to bring Premier League football to St Andrew's as soon as possible and Davies now has to prove that he is the man to deliver that objective for the club's owners.
The 41-year-old arrived at Birmingham in the summer of 2024 following the club's relegation from the Championship.
He led the club to the League One title in his first season after they amassed 111 points to set a new EFL points record.
On the surface a top-half finish in the second-tier was a solid return, but improvements are required if he is to remain at the helm in the long-term.
