Bath Rugby v Exeter Chiefs team news for Friday night contest

Early Prem Rugby favourites Bath will be looking to continue their winning start to the new season as they host Exeter Chiefs on Friday night.

Despite ending the 2025/26 Prem Rugby season in fine form, Exeter Chiefs suffered a shock heavy defeat to Gloucester Rugby last time out.

On the other hand, Bath started the new season extremely well, defeating Harlequins at the Stoop.

Both sides will be desperate to record a victory as they look to build momentum at the start of the new season.

Bath Rugby v Exeter Chiefs

Ciaran Donoghue is named to start at full back for the hosts this weekend, being joined in the back three by Joe Cokanasiga and Tom De Glanville.

Ollie Lawrence and Cameron Redpath are named as the centre pairing, outside of Finn Russell and Bernard van der Linde, who make up the half backs.

Beno Obano, Tom Dunn and Will Stuart are the front row, supported by a lock pairing of Quinn Roux and captain Charlie Ewels, while Ewen Richards, Guy Pepper and Dan du Preez are named in the back row.

The Chiefs have responded to their opening day defeat with a couple of changes, with Ollie Woodburn, Immanuel Feyi-Waboso and the returning Tom Wyatt making up the back three.

Henry Slade and Will Butt maintain their partnership in midfield, outside of Harvey Skinner and Stephen Varney at half back.

Ethan Burger and Jack Yeandle join the departing Josh Iosefa-Scott in the front row, with Harry Wilson and captain Dafydd Jenkins retaining their spots at second row.

Ethan Roots, Kane James and Greg Fisilau make up the back row, in what is an extremely physical Chiefs pack.
