Tom Pearson has signed a new contract with reigning Premiership Rugby champions Northampton Saints.
The contract awarded to Pearson -- which ties him down to Northampton Saints beyond the end of the 2026/27 season -- is reflective of a successful few years for the English back-rower.
He completed the switch to the Saints in 2023 after an impressive 2022/23 campaign with London Irish, where he was named as both Premiership Rugby's Breakthrough player of the year and as the Rugby Players' Association's young player of the season.
Months before his move to Franklin's Gardens, England coach Steve Borthwick handed him his national team Test debut in a warm-up defeat against Wales in August 2023.
While he's yet to make an England appearance since, he played a leading role in Northampton's 2025/26 Premiership Rugby success and will hope to be back in the international fold sooner rather than later.
After renewing his contract with Northampton, Pearson said:
"Since joining Saints, I’ve felt completely at home. I genuinely feel like this Club has brought the best out of me as a player.
“I’ve developed so much during my time here, whether that’s my all-round game, my set piece work, or my attacking game – and a huge amount of credit for that has to go to the coaches.
“They’re all incredibly invested in helping players improve, not just for what they can achieve with Saints but also in terms of their wider ambitions. That support and belief is a massive part of why I wanted to stay.
Speaking on his international ambitions, he added: "Getting back into the England set-up remains a huge motivation for me.
"I feel like I’ve got unfinished business there and it’s something I’m determined to push for again this season."
Making himself known to Borthwick will be an aim for Pearson, and he'll want to give himself the best chance of doing so by once again impressing for the Saints as they look to retain the Premiership.
The 26-year-old made 22 appearances and scored six tries in the club's most recent Premiership-winning season, and while he was rested in Northampton's season opener on Friday, they made a winning start to the 2026/27 campaign.
Sam Vesty's well-oiled machine defeated Newcastle Red Bulls 59-26 at Franklin's Gardens, and they are priced at 9/4 to win the Premiership for a fourth time.
