We've taken a look back at the Ballon d'Or 2010 rankings when the great Lionel Messi won the prestigious award for the second time.
After winning the Ballon d'Or for the first time in 2009, Messi secured 22.65% of the vote to defend his crown.
He edged out two of his Barcelona teammates in the form of Andres Iniesta and Xavi to win the award.
Iniesta and Xavi both featured in Spain's 2010 World Cup-winning squad and it was the first time that a club's youth academy had produced all three finalists for the Ballon d'Or in the same year.
Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder narrowly missed out on the top three despite playing a crucial role as Inter Milan won the 2009/10 UEFA Champions League.
Uruguay striker Diego Forlan completed the top five after a fine World Cup, while Cristiano Ronaldo was sixth after being in the top three in each of the three previous years.
The rest of the top 10 was completed by Didier Drogba and three more Spain World Cup heroes, with Iker Casillas, David Villa and Xabi Alonso all featuring.
