A late stoppage time equaliser from Rayan salvaged a draw for Brazil in their friendly against Australia at the Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville.
Carlo Ancelotti's side faced the Socceroos in the first of two international friendlies down under and the Selecao had thought they had taken the lead on the stroke of half-time when Estevao found the back of the net, only for the goal to be disallowed by VAR due to a foul in the build-up.
Brazil controlled the tempo of the match but Australia continued to threaten a vulnerable Selecao backline, and they were rewarded in the 68th minute when former Watford forward Nestory Irankunda struck a sublime free-kick into the top left corner.
Ancelotti made a raft of changes to restore parity, including the introduction of Rayan, and the Bournemouth winger produced the goods in the dying embers of the game by connecting with Raphinha's corner and nodding beyond Australia goalkeeper Patrick Beach.
The equaliser denied the Socceroos only their second-ever victory over Brazil, and spares Ancelotti's blushes after the Italian promised the start of a new era.
