Arthur Fery's potential route to Wimbledon victory

Arthur Fery registered a thrilling victory over Grigor Dimitrov to reach the quarter-finals of Wimbledon.

The 23-year-old Brit has made it through a tough section to reach the last eight and is now preparing for the biggest match of his life against Italian ace Flavio Cobolli.

Although Fery heads into the clash as a huge underdog, he showed with his win over Dimitrov that he has the talent to cause the 2026 French Open finalist some issues.

Fery has already created history by becoming the first British wildcard to reach the quarter-final stage and he will be dreaming of going all the way.

We take a look at how Fery's route to Wimbledon victory could pan out...

Wimbledon

Quarter-final - Flavio Cobolli

Cobolli is a tough last eight match-up for Fery and he arrives here off the back of a brilliant straight-set win over fifth seed Álex de Miñaur.

The 24-year-old is an up and coming star of the Men's game and reached his first Grand Slam final last month at Roland Garros. Although he was eventually defeated by Alexander Zverev, Cobolli did manage to win two sets against the German in what was a thrilling finale.

However, Fery did get the better of Cobolli in the Australian Open and can take huge confidence from that performance.

Semi-final - Taylor Fritz

At the time of writing, Fritz's quarter-final opponent is not yet confirmed, however, it looks likely to be Zverev.

A clash between the number six and number two seeds would be tough to call but American Fritz boasts a better Wimbledon record that includes a semi-final appearance in 2025. On top of this, Fritz has got the better of Zverev in each of their last seven meetings.

Final - Jannik Sinner

World number one Jannik Sinner has a fairly comfortable path to the last four where he should meet either Felix Auger-Aliassime or Novak Djokovic.

Either will be a tough assignment for the Italian, but he will be favourite to defeat whichever player manages to make it through their blockbuster quarter-final.

The four-time Grand Slam champion has spent a total of 79 weeks as world number one and if he reaches the Wimbledon final then he will break into the top ten for the most weeks spent as the best male player on the planet.
