Andy Burnham is favourite to become the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
The Greater Manchester mayor has been discussed as a possible candidate for the position for some time now and, as the pressure continues to mount on Sir Kier Starmer, calls for Burnham to replace the Labour leader have only grown louder.
In February, the former Secretary of State for Health was blocked by Labour's ruling body to stand as a candidate in the Gorton and Denton by-election, a seat that Labour eventually lost to the Greens.

Since then, reports emerged in the Guardian claiming that Burnham has put together a "credible plan" to make a return to Westminster, identifying several areas where MPs could step aside to allow him to mount a challenge to Starmer's leadership.
As well as plotting a way back into Westminster, it is also understood that Burnham has sought out an "impressive" candidate to replace him as Greater Manchester mayor.
Calls for Burnham to challenge Starmer are only set to increase in the coming weeks after Labour suffered damaging losses at the local council elections.
The party have performed poorly in areas where they have traditionally thrived, losing ground to Reform UK in the North of the England and the Midlands.
Despite the disappointing results, Starmer is insisting that he is "not going to walk away" from his position as Prime Minister.
