Two-time World Darts Championship winner Adrian Lewis has revealed he has undertaken a significant lifestyle change as he continues preparations for his long-awaited return to the PDC.
The Stoke-on-Trent star, who romped to victory at Alexandra Palace in 2011 and 2012, hasn't featured on the professional circuit for almost three years after opting to take an 'indefinite break' from darts.
However, last year, 'Jackpot' announced plans to stage a comeback and has undertaken his first steps on that journey by participating in the MODUS Super Series.
Alongside that, Lewis has undertaken a serious health kick too, changing his diet and cutting out alcohol to help him shed over three-and-a-half stone, something he believes will significantly aid his bid to compete for major ranking titles during his second PDC run.
Speaking to the Double Tops podcast this week, the 41-year-old said: "The aim is still to make a comeback!
Over the last 14 months, I’ve lost three-and-a-half stone by walking more, eating better and staying away from the booze; I've been doing all the right things really.

"I need to be fighting fit when I do return to the tour and I want to enjoy it. I feel ready now.
"I don't want to make a comeback just for the sake of it, I want to come back and challenge for the big titles - my dream is to become a three-time world champion."
Lewis cemented himself as one of the sport's biggest stars during his heyday, becoming just the fourth player in history to make a successful defence of their maiden world title.
The Staffordshire ace also reigned supreme at the UK Open and European Championship following his back-to-back Ally Pally triumphs, whilst also pairing up with former mentor Phil Taylor to land four World Cup of Darts titles for England between 2012 and 2016.
However, having been distracted by personal matters during the latter stages of his first spell on tour, Lewis opted to take a break from darts in 2023, admitting at the time that he didn't know whether he would ever return.
"There were things going on that I needed to address, and after 20 years I think I just needed a break," he added.
"But I’m ready to enjoy it again. I don’t care about the money, it’s all about the trophies for me, just as it has always been.
"On the exhibition circuit I’m still very competitive and I beat plenty of the Premier League players regularly, so the ability is still there I’d like to think."
Whilst Jackpot hasn't put a time frame on his likely return, it's understood that he currently harbours plans to attempt to earn himself a PDC Tour Card at Q School following the 2027 World Darts Championship.
