"He's a leader, he's setting an example and he has the potential to be England's greatest ever player."
Jude Bellingham was already considered by many as England's best player heading into this extended international break, however, his performances in games against Spain and Croatia have left Adam Catterall wondering where the ceiling is the the 23-year-old midfielder.
The Real Madrid man cut an inspirational figure at times for his country at the World Cup over the summer, not just scoring seven times in North America, but providing several vital moments that cannot be judged by standard metrics such as goals or assists.
Bellingham helped himself to three assists and a goal as England hit Croatia for seven in Rijeka last week, prompting not just Catterall, but other pundits, most notably Roy Keane, to argue that he could become the greatest to ever don the Three Lions shirt.
Still in the early years of his international career, Bellingham has played 59 times for his country, became England's all-time highest goalscorer at a single World Cup and delivered countless times in the most crucial of moments.
He looks like a captain in waiting and Catterall can only see his star rising even further, agreeing with Keane's summation that the Birmingham-born star is a great.
"Roy Keane is absolutely right, England have a great in their team!" Catterall told bet365.
"This week, the conversation is going to be around the all-time appearance record being smashed by Harry Kane, and he deserves his flowers for that. He also deserves his flowers for smashing the goalscoring record as well, I don't think anyone will catch that.
"But how many clutch moments has he had? Be honest, has he had more that Jude Bellingham?
"Bellingham is 23 years old and he is already delivering those key, clutch moments in high pressure games, on a regular basis. As Keane pointed out this week, it's not just those maverick moments that are going to make him a great. It's what he does off the ball.
"He's a leader, he's setting an example and he has the potential to become England's greatest ever player!"
England and Bellingham will face-off against Czechia at Wembley on Tuesday night, before the players head back to their respective clubs.
Bellingham faces a fairly busy schedule with Spanish giants Real Madrid over the coming weeks. Los Blancos play five times in 15 days, starting with a La Liga clash at home to Villarreal on Saturday and culminating in what looks like a potentially season-defining El Clasico away at Barcelona.
England fans have to wait near on six weeks to see Bellingham in a Three Lions shirt again, with Nations League games against Croatia and Spain coming in mid-November.
