NFL Week 6 picks and predictions with Chad Millman

The Action Network’s Chief Content Officer Chad Millman gives his picks and analysis for the NFL Week 6 slate, including Same Game Parlay, Money Line parlay, and a Best Bet for the weekend.

Niners visit the Dawg Pound

The San Francisco 49ers have separated themselves from the pack early on this NFL season.

Kyle Shanahan’s team sits at 5-0 with a +99 point differential – the best in the NFL. They have scored 30+ points in all five games and allowed more than 16 just once. The result? San Fran is the Super Bowl favorite at +450.

The line movement ahead of this Sunday’s contest in Cleveland is something to keep an eye on. With Browns QB Deshaun Watson’s status up in the air, the spread has shifted from SF -3 to SF -6, where it now sits.

Veteran backup P.J. Walker is expected to start for the Browns in Watson can’t go.

Purdy a phenom

NFL fans and analysts have had Brock Purdy’s name on their lips plenty so far this season. Is the former ‘Mr. Irrelevant’ an elite quarterback? Can he lead the Niners to a Super Bowl?

One thing that can’t be denied is the upshift in Purdy’s MVP odds.

From a +10000 shot in March 2023, to +5000 after Week 1, and now fifth in the betting at +700, Purdy has emerged as a legitimate MVP candidate through Week 5.

Right behind him? The guy he hands it off to, Christian McCaffrey, who has the shortest odds of any non-QB (by far) to win MVP at +1800.

What to do with the AFC North?

Just when you think you know the teams in the AFC North, you don’t.

Off the back of the Steelers come-from-behind win against the Ravens in Week 5, it is even less clear who is the best in the division. The Steelers and Ravens sit at 3-2, the Browns at 2-2, and the Bengals at 2-3.

The odds indicate Baltimore (+140 to win division) is the favorite to come out on top in 2023, followed by the Browns (+275), Steelers (+350), and preseason favorite Cincinnati (+400).

Eagles keep flying

At 5-0, the Eagles find themselves in a similar situation to 2022.

Nick Sirianni’s team is undoubtedly one of the NFL’s best, but must continue to show it on the field week after week. It looks like they’ll be battling it out with the 49ers all season for the NFC’s top seed, too.

Chad likes Philly and its star players to get the job done yet again this Sunday evening against the Jets.

Chad’s Same Game Parlay: Eagles Money Line, AJ Brown 50+ Rec. Yds, Jalen Hurts Anytime TD

Who wins in Week 6?

Chad’s three selections for his Week 6 Money Line parlay include two big favorites – the Eagles (-310 ML at NYJ) and the Rams (-315 ML vs. ARZ) – and a home underdog in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+145 ML vs DET).

Chad’s Money Line Parlay: Eagles ML, Buccaneers ML, Rams ML

Chad's Best Bet

The Detroit Lions look reborn in 2023, sitting atop the NFC North at 4-1, averaging 29.6 points per game (4th in NFL), and coming off back-to-back blowout wins over the Packers and Panthers.

Chad says not so fast.

The Buccaneers have been one of the surprises of the season so far and, fresh off their bye week, should be up for the fight this Sunday when the Lions come to town.

Chad’s Best Bet: Buccaneers +3
