The Action Network's Chief Content Officer Chad Millman gives his picks and analysis for the NFL Week 2 slate, including a Same Game Parlay, Money Line parlay, and a Best Bet for the weekend.
In an opening weekend that saw several top quarterbacks – Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, and Jalen Hurts – all underperform, one signal-caller stood out above the rest.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa lit up the Chargers in Miami’s 36-34 road victory, going for 466 passing yards, 122 more than any other QB in Week 1, and three touchdowns. He connected with star wide-out Tyreek Hill 11 times for 215 yards and two scores.
The result? Tua is now second-favorite at +750 to win MVP, jumping Burrow, Allen, and Jalen Hurts in the betting. Only Mahomes (+650) has shorter odds than the Dolphins’ fourth-year QB.
Chad discusses whether or not Tagovailoa has a legitimate chance to win MVP and notes some other names to keep an eye on in the market.
When New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles on the fourth play of his team debut on Monday Night Football, shockwaves reverberated across the sports world.
The Jets were Super Bowl hopefuls and AFC East contenders with the future Hall of Famer under center. Now, Robert Saleh’s men are back where they started pre-Rodgers – with the much-scrutinized Zach Wilson at QB1.
The Jets entered 2023/24 second-favorite to win the AFC East, but Rodgers’ injury slides them to third in the betting at a +550 shot to win the division. The Bills, despite losing to New York in Week 1, remain +125 favorites with the Dolphins close behind at +150.
The Chicago Bears' faithful came off their team’s 38-20 Week 1 loss to the Green Bay Packers with a familiar feeling.
Entering the new season, Green Bay had won 25 of the last 29 meetings between the NFC North rivals dating back to 2009.
The difference in 2023? Jordan Love replaced Aaron Rodgers as QB1 of the Packers, a potential sign of a turning of the tides. But it wasn’t to be, and Green Bay's dominance shone through yet again.
Can Matt Eberflus’ men bounce back in Week 2 when visiting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?
Chad's Same Game Parlay: Bears Money Line, Justin Fields 50+ Rush Yards, D.J. Moore Anytime Touchdown
Place a $20 bet on Same Game Parlay or Same Game Parlay+ for any NFL game on Sunday, September 17th and get $10 in Bonus Bets.
Min odds: +100. Same Game Parlay, Same Game Parlay+ or Accumulators (In-Play and Pre-Game).
Chad likes three 0-1 teams to bounce back with a win in Week 2.
The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs dropped their opener against the Detroit Lions last Thursday night, and Patrick Mahomes and company look to get in the win column against the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday.
After losing on a walk-off punt return for a touchdown in Week 1, the Bills host the Las Vegas Raiders this weekend. Buffalo hasn’t started 0-2 since Josh Allen’s rookie year, the 2018/19 season.
Lastly, the only team to get shut out in Week 1 – the New York Giants – have an opportunity to tally a win when visiting the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday afternoon. Not only did the G-Men fail to score a point last Sunday night against Dallas, but they allowed more points (40) than any other team in the opening weekend.
Chad's Money Line Parlay: Chiefs Money Line, Bills Money Line, Giants Money Line
Coming off a disappointing Week 1 loss at home to the Los Angeles Rams, Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks travel to Ford Field for a date with the Lions.
Despite Detroit’s impressive display in Kansas City, Chad has his eye on the Seahawks point spread as his best bet for Week 2.
Chad's Best Bet: Seahawks +4.5
