At bet365, we don’t do ordinary.
And neither does Washington Commanders safety Jeremy Reaves.
Playing in his sixth NFL season, Reaves has gone from practice squad player to one of the league’s top special teamers in the span of a few years.
After appearing in 25 regular season games across his first four seasons, Reaves played in all 17 of Washington’s games in 2022 and was a Pro Bowl and First Team All-Pro selection for special teams.
Reaves joined Brandon Scherff as the only Washington players to receive First Team All-Pro honors this century.
Now in 2023, Reaves is one of the longest-tenured Commanders and serves as a team captain.
“Resilience” Reaves said. “Even when the cards are stacked against me. That’s my slogan, find a way or make one.”
It’s not often a player goes undrafted, gets cut five different times, bounces back-and-forth between the practice squad and active roster, and ultimately makes First Team All-Pro.
Unless you’re Jeremy Reaves.
“If I can’t find a way, I will make one and kick the door down.”
Now a team captain and established member of the Commanders roster, Reaves has a fresh mindset for the 2023 season.
“I went through those mental gymnastics that I had to perfect because I had to do everything to stay here,” Reaves said. “After the year I had last year, now it’s just about letting it loose and having fun.”
