The PGA Tour is back in action this weekend with the Fortinet Championship, the first event of the inaugural FedEx Cup Fall, and Jason Sobel has three picks for the tournament.
It won’t be your typical crop of players taking the course at Silverado Resort in Napa, California, as most star American and European names have shifted their focus to the Ryder Cup at the end of September.
The Fall series gives players who fell outside the top 50 in the 2023 FedEx Cup standings a chance to solidify their Tour status for the upcoming year.
One American Ryder Cup participant – Max Homa – is in the field, as the 32-year-old eyes a third-straight Fortinet Championship title. Homa, who finished tied for ninth in the final FedEx Cup standings, is the runaway favorite to win the event at +700.
Notable names Justin Thomas (+1400 to Win Outright) and Sahith Theegala (+1400 to Win Outright) are also among the favorites to win at Silverado.
Golf expert Jason Sobel previews the Fortinet Championship with two picks to win outright, including one longshot prediction, and a pick to finish top 10.
