Los Angeles Dodgers rookie starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto takes the mound in Thursday night's Game 4 of the NLCS against the New York Mets.
Yamamoto made 18 regular season starts - he missed a chunk of the season due to injury - and pitched 90.0 innings with a 3.00 ERA, 1.111 WHIP, seven home runs allowed, 32 runs allowed, and a 105-22 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
The 26-year-old Japanese rookie finished 11th on the team in WAR, which was good for third among Dodgers pitchers. He also finished third in runs prevented above replacement pitcher. Tyler Glasnow and Gavin Stone were the only Dodgers pitchers ahead of him in either category.
Yamamoto made two starts in the NLDS against the San Diego Padres, which was the team that hit him hard in his MLB debut in March. He gave up five runs in 3.0 innings in Game 2, but he bounced back in Game 5 with two hits and zero runs allowed in 5.0 innings pitched. LA won both his starts.
The Mets hit Yamamoto hard in the one game he started against them this season, which was on April 19. He made it through 6.0 innings and struck out nine, but gave up seven hits, four runs and a home run in a 9-4 Mets win.
The Dodgers will want to push their lead to 3-1 in this Game 4, while the Mets want to even the series once again. Ahead of this pivotal matchup, let's take a look at Yamamoto's odds, lines and player props.
