Las Vegas Aces vs. New York Liberty: Picks, Predictions and Odds

The New York Liberty, having won 8-of-10, are close to securing the top seed and home court throughout the 2024 WNBA playoffs. Next up is an attempt at a season sweep of two-time defending champions, the Las Vegas Aces. 

The Aces are rounding back into form, winning four straight after losing 4-of-6 to start the second half of the season. That recent run includes a 72-67 victory at the Connecticut Sun on Friday night. Kelsey Plum had 27 points and A’ja Wilson added 20 in the victory.

The Liberty took two on the road from the Aces earlier this season and get them at the Barclays Center on Sunday.

Two-time MVPs Breanna Stewart and Wilson get to do battle one more time this regular season. Stewart won the award last year and Wilson is favored to win her third this year.

New York is virtually unstoppable at home, winning 13 of its last 14 at Barclays Center and 15-of-17 overall. The Liberty have easily handled Las Vegas in two games this season, winning by an average of 10 points in two road victories. This is a hungry team in search of its first WNBA title.

The Aces do boast one of the best road records in the league at 11-5, and it now sits fourth in the league standings, two games behind the Sun. Las Vegas is 4-1 against the spread in its last five games after going 0-8 ATS in the previous eight. 

This will also be the second game in three nights against the league’s top two teams for Las Vegas.

Despite Las Vegas' hot recent run, look for similarly smoking New York to cover the four-point spread and move closer to home-court advantage.

Las Vegas (86.9) and New York (85.6) are the WNBA’s top two offenses and are poised to finish well over a total of 169.5 points. That, despite New York playing to the under in six of its last eight games and the Aces playing to the under in 5-of-7. This is a primetime Sunday afternoon game on ESPN and the stars are going to show out.

Look for Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu and company fire it up for the Liberty, with Wilson, Plum and co. responding in kind for Las Vegas.
