After a dominating performance on Sunday, the Connecticut Sun look to close out the Indiana Fever in Game 2 of the first round of the WNBA playoffs on Wednesday night.
The Sun continued their recent dominance over the Fever, opening their 2024 WNBA first-round playoff series with a 93-69 victory Sunday.
Alyssa Thomas posted a triple-double with 12 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds, while Marina Mabrey scored a game-high 27 points after making five 3-pointers.
More impressively, the Sun held Caitlin Clark to 24% from the field (4-for-17), including 15% from three-point land (2-for-13), as the rookie phenom posted just 11 points in the loss.
The Sun are 12-1 in their last 13 games against the Fever, and they look to close out this series tomorrow night at home.

Clark and the Fever were a great storyline for the WNBA this season. The heralded rookie has been a driving factor in the rise in viewership league-wide and led a forlorn franchise back to the postseason for the first time since 2016.
The Sun don’t care. They laid waste to Indiana in the opening game, and look to hold court at home and sweep this series.
Connecticut is 5-2 against the spread in its last seven games overall, as well as 5-2 ATS in its last seven games against the Fever. Limiting Indiana to just 21 percent from three-point land again would help do the trick.
Connecticut is now 8-13 ATS at home this season, while Indiana fell to 1-6-1 ATS in its last eight games and is just 1-4 straight up in its last five contests.
Mabrey had an impressive postseason debut for Connecticut. Her 27 points were the most she’s scored since joining the Sun over the All-Star/Olympics break.
Expect Clark to bounce back and the Fever to post an admirable effort to try and stave off elimination. But the Sun are just deeper and poised to move on.
Look for Connecticut to win and cover the seven-point spread.
The two teams have now combined for less than 163.5 points four of five times they played this season, including all three times in Connecticut.
That includes the 162 total Sunday. The Sun’s defense, which held opponents to a league-low 73.6 points a game this season, will continue to be the difference here.
The only thing that should threaten this total is Indiana’s defense. After allowing 87.7 points during the regular season, the Fever surrendered 93 in Game 1.
Expect that total to again be pushed, but for the two teams to stay just Under that 163.5 line.
Lost amidst the Game 1 blowout was Fever forward Aliyah Boston’s performance. She had 17 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for Indiana.
Boston finished seventh in the league with 8.9 rebounds, but cooled a little bit towards the end of the regular season, averaging 7.8 boards over Indiana’s final 10 contests.
As expected, Boston stepped up in her first postseason contest. Look for her to do the same in Game 2 and grab Over 8.5 rebounds.
