Read the latest betting pick and predictions for tonight's matchup between the Winnipeg Jets (31-14-3) and Colorado Avalanche (28-19-1), courtesy of our friends at Daily Faceoff.

Winnipeg Jets vs. Colorado Avalanche betting pick and predictions

The Winnipeg Jets will conclude a two-game road trip in Colorado on Wednesday, looking to rebound from back-to-back losses. The Jets had their three-game win streak snapped with a 3-1 home loss to the Calgary Flames on Saturday, followed by a 5-2 defeat in Utah on Monday. Winnipeg had played eight consecutive games at home before embarking on this trip.

Colorado is also aiming to bounce back after a 3-1 loss to the Wild in Minnesota. The Avalanche have lost two of three games against the Jets this season, both times being shut out.

However, they defeated the Jets 5-2 on New Year’s Eve and can split the season series with a win on Wednesday as they close out a five-game homestand. Despite this, the Avalanche have won just one of their last six regular-season matchups versus the Jets.

Connor Hellebuyck, who currently has the third-best Hart Trophy odds (+350), has recorded a shutout in his last three starts against the Avalanche, excluding playoffs. In fact, the reigning Vezina Trophy winner is 8-1-1 in his last 10 regular-season starts against Colorado, with a 1.86 goals-against average, a .944 save percentage, and four shutouts.

Only five teams (including Winnipeg) have allowed fewer goals per 60 minutes than Colorado since newly acquired goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood made his first start for the team. However, scoring has all of a sudden become a problem for Colorado, as the Avalanche rank 24th in goals per 60 minutes over their last nine games, and their stars haven’t had put up good numbers against the Jets as of late.

Cale Makar has just two points in his last eight games against the Jets, while Nathan MacKinnon has just one point over his last four games versus Winnipeg. That said, it’s not for a lack of trying on MacKinnon’s part, as he has 74 shots on goal in his last 14 games against Winnipeg dating back to the start of the 2021/22 season.

Pick: Nathan MacKinnon 4+ Shots on Goal (-115)
