New York Jets star running back Breece Hall did not practice on Wednesday and his status for Week 7 against the Miami Dolphins is in doubt.
Hall hasn't played since he suffered a quadriceps injury against the Detroit Lions in Week 3 and is considered "week-to-week." However, he hasn't been ruled out for Sunday's game and still has a chance to practice later this week.
Hall's absence has led to an increased workload for backup Braelon Allen who has taken full advantage of his newfound opportunities. Allen has averaged 84.3 rush yards and 18.3 carries in the last three games, showcasing his brute strength and quick feet that made the 22-year-old an intriguing prospect coming out of Wisconsin.
Still, the Jets have missed their explosive playmaker who head coach Aaron Glenn confirmed will be the starter when he returns.
"Breece is our starter," Glenn said Wednesday when asked about running back roles. "He's always been our starter, but Braelon is going to get touches too."
Hall is currently questionable to play Sunday, though his inactive status at Wednesday's practice doesn't bode well for his chances. Still, there's time left this week to get some practice in if Hall starts feeling better.
Fantasy managers shouldn't be worried about Allen stealing touches from Hall once he returns however, as Glenn said the latter is still the clear starter in the backfield once he returns.
