He overcame Antonio Orozco with a sixth-round TKO to win the vacant WBA Gold welterweight title on August 10, 2019, in a hometown bout in Grand Prairie, Texas, and then defended that title against Brad Solomon followed by former world title challenger Samuel Vargas.

Bohachuk was taken the distance for the first time in his career last time out as he claimed the WBC Interim World Super Welterweight title via unanimous decision over Brian Mendoza.
