The clash against Bohachuk, which rates a serious test, is billed to take place at Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on the evening of Saturday, August 10 and will be shown live on subscription service DAZN.

Vergil Ortiz Jr record

Hailing from Grand Prairie, Texas, Vergil Ortiz Jr was a seven-time national champion as an amateur and the 26-year-old made the switch to the paid ranks in 2016.

The American swiftly made an impact in the professional guise of the sport and had moved to 11-0 by the end of 2018.

Those victories came in low-key bouts, but the Texan stepped up to beat Mauricio Herrera and Antonio Orozco in 2019 and the 26-year-old was making waves in the welterweight division.

Ortiz stopped Maurice Hooker in 2021 before defeating Egidijus Kavaliauskas and Michael McKinson the following year and the power-packed Grand Prairie puncher looked to be heading for a world title.

All of Ortiz's 21 professional victories have come by stoppage, but illness kept him out of the ring for almost two years before the 26-year-old returned in the super-welterweight division in January 2024.

The Grand Prairie puncher has scored a pair of 154lbs stoppage victories over Fredrick Lawson and Thomas Dulorme since returning to the ring, but a clash with Bohachuk rates the toughest test of his career to date.

Serhii Bohachuk record

Serhii Bohachuk is a former three-time Ukrainian national champion, who made his professional debut in 2017.

Skinny Power began his pro career at 146lbs, but the Ukrainian has been up to 159lbs since then, making him a powerful and sizable super-welterweight.

The Vinitza-born fighter has just one defeat on a 25-fight card and that came when tackling former world title challenger Brandon Adams in 2021.

Bohachuk has produced 23 stoppage successes from his 24 career victories and the latest triumph over Brian Mendoza is without doubt the strongest form on the orthodox fighter's record.

The 29-year-old will prove a true super-welterweight test for Ortiz and it will be interesting to see how this intriguing 154lbs showdown plays out.
