Esports: VALORANT VCT Americas Monday preview

The VCT Americas region of VALORANT continues play as 10 teams duke it out for auto bids to the VALORANT Champions and Masters events.

Monday’s matches continue week four of the action, with plenty of powerful teams in competition.

LOUD are the lone team that remain unbeaten, although Leviatan and FURIA Esports follow closely behind with just one loss apiece to this point.

There are plenty of important matches yet to be played in this event, but perhaps one match to keep a close eye on is Monday’s clash between Leviatan and 100 Thieves, with the latter looking for another win to get to a 3-2 record.

The other match-up to pay close attention to is between Evil Geniuses and the league-leading LOUD Gaming.

VCT Americas have enjoyed great competition thus far with nine of the 10 teams playing having won at least one match.

This match-up will be big as Leviatan look to keep pace with LOUD at the top of the standings. They have a big task ahead of them on Monday as they take on a 100 Thieves team that are in desperate need of a third win in a hurry.

The Thieves do have a decent chance to get that win, as they have always been contenders in VALORANT, not to mention the fact that they are always playing against elite teams outside of the VCT Regionals.

100 Thieves are coming off a 2-1 victory over KRU, while their two losses so far have come against Sentinels and Cloud9.

Both teams have plenty of talent to keep an eye on, but there are two players to watch closely.

Asuna will have the task of being the leader for 100 Thieves with his average combat score of 213. As for Leviatan, they will lean heavily on kiNgg who holds a marginally better average combat score of 215, while averaging 0.76 kills per round.

Leviatan enter on a two-match winning streak following victories over Sentinels and MIBR, with their one loss sustained against FURIA in a three-map duel.

Leviatan can be backed at -333, but 100 Thieves aren’t a foe to take lightly and have the capabilities to hang around and, at least, force this to three maps. However, backing Leviatan to win is still the safe play.

In what could be a tremendous match-up, Evil Geniuses take on LOUD in the second match on Monday’s slate of action in VCT Americas.

LOUD have really proven themselves to be a legitimate contender in this event as they have enjoyed a perfect start so far, winning three out of three.

Their undefeated record will be put to the test as Evil Geniuses look to knock them off their stride, and get their own campaign back on an even keel.

The playmakers for both teams have been putting up huge numbers and this match will be fun to watch.

Evil Geniuses are in a desperate situation with only one victory so far in this event, with that win coming against KRU Esports.

The stretch run for LOUD has been strong, with four straight wins against MIBR, Cloud9, FURIA and Sentinels. Three of the four matches really tested the team’s fortitude, as they needed three maps to win against MIBR, Cloud9 and Sentinels.

EG have a lot of different players in their in-game line-up, but ScrewFace has been the top performer so far, with a combat score average of 254 along with 0.89 kills per round.

As for LOUD, aspas has been the top performer; he averages a combat score of 242 and 0.87 kills per round.

At first glance, this match looks like it should be won by LOUD and that is reflected in their odds of -1200 To Win.

However, even if ScrewFace has another good outing, the rest of the EG line-up is a big question mark at this point. So, backing LOUD to not only win this match-up but cover the handicap could well be the way to go at -250.
