Team USA has won seven consecutive gold medals in the Olympic Women's Basketball tournament, and the coaches have a stacked player pool to choose from as they prepare to chase their eighth-straight gold.
WNBA rookie sensation Caitlin Clark was not added to the Olympic roster. She is averaging 16.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 5.6 turnovers this season while shooting 32.7 percent from three and 37.3 percent overall.
After the roster was announced, reports said that since Clark would not have received much playing time, it could have become a distraction given all the fan and media attention she receives.
Even without Clark, Team USA still has more talent than any other women's basketball team. The squad includes three former WNBA MVPs in A'ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart and Diana Taurasi.

Cheryl Reeve is the head coach of Team USA for women's basketball. She took over for South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley, who stepped down from Team USA duties after the team won gold in Tokyo at the last Summer Olympics.
Reeve is a three-time WNBA Coach of the Year and a four-time WNBA Champion, having been the Minnesota Lynx head coach since 2010.
She did not call any of her Lynx players into the April training camp, but Napheesa Collier - part of Team USA at the Tokyo Games - has played like an MVP with averages of 22.2 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.7 steals and 2.0 blocks six games into the season and could be on her WNBA coach's radar for the national team.
Team USA is in Group C for the 2024 Summer Olympics women's basketball tournament, joined by Germany, Belgium, and the last Olympics' silver medalists, Japan.
Belgium is sixth in the FIBA Women's World Ranking, Japan is ninth and Germany is 19th.
