Dustin Poirier: Age, Height, Weight, Net Worth, Record, Next Fight

Everything you need to know about American UFC fighter Dustin Poirier, including age, height, weight, net worth, record and next fight.

Dustin Poirier record

Poirier holds an MMA record of 30-9 and he has a UFC record of 23-9.

Poirier began his professional MMA career in May of 2009, quickly making a name for himself through a number of different promotions.

He accumulated a 7-0 record in just one year and made his debut in the World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) promotion in June of 2010, where he suffered his first loss. He rebounded with a win in November of 2010 before the WEC merged with the UFC and Poirier then made his official debut in the UFC the following year in January of 2011.

He won his official UFC debut, which started a stretch of five consecutive wins. It was not until May of 2012 when he suffered his next loss.

Over his next five fights, Poirier scored three more wins before facing his toughest test in September of 2014. That was a meeting with Conor McGregor, a fight Poirier lost by TKO.

Following that defeat, Poirier bounced back strongly, winning five of his next six fights.

In May of 2017, Poirier’s fight against Eddie Alvarez was declared a No Contest due to an illegal knee by Alvarez.

Poirier won all four fights he contested over the next two years, including a significant win against Justin Gaethje and a victory over Alvarez in their rematch.

By that time, Poirier had finally done enough to earn himself a shot at the UFC Lightweight Interim Title.

The fight took place in April of 2019, a matchup Poirier won against Max Holloway.

After winning the Lightweight Interim Title, Poirier was given the chance to challenge Khabib Nurmagomedov for the Lightweight Title. However, Poirier lost the fight by submission in September of 2019.

He quickly bounced back by winning his next three fights, including two against Conor McGregor, earning himself another title shot, this time against Charles Oliveira. Once again, Poirier was unable to win, losing to Oliveira by submission.

Since his second attempt to win the Lightweight title, Poirier has defeated Michael Chandler by submission and lost to Justin Gaethje by knockout for the symbolic “BMF” title.

Poirier had a third chance at the Lightweight title at UFC 302 in June 2024, but he lost to champion Islam Makhachev via submission late in the fifth and final round.

Overall, Poirier has 15 wins by knockout, eight by submission, and seven by decision. Of his nine losses, three have come by knockout, four by submission, and two by decision.
